As per summary.

I don't know if this will break WIN32 due to inclusion of unistd.h.

I haven't tried running autoconf.

I didn't bother building a compat routine for vfork(), since it's only going to cause problems on win32. Instead HAVE_FORK now contributes to the mess on ifdefs in cc.c. :)
