add a somewhat more lenient mode to cpp

Created: 21/Nov/08 11:03 AM   Updated: 13/Jun/10 09:35 PM
Component/s: C preprocessor
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: None

 Description  « Hide
[25]While cpp has a -t option, it does not switch into a real________________
[26]traditional mode. I?d like a somewhat ?lenient? mode which,______________
[27]while not sharing the problems of the C99 mode, does not_________________
[28]necessarily restrict one to what few functionality a tra-________________
[29]ditional cpp provides. Most importantly, cpp should not__________________
   [30]insert spurious newlines.___________________________________________________________________
   [32]Use cases:__________________________________________________________________________________
[34]* cpp for X11 (xrdb, etc.)__________________________________________________________________
[35]* cpp for non-C languages (asm, even HTML ? did that once)__________________________________
[36]* replacement for Reiser CCCP (possibly with traditional____________________________________
   [37] mode enabled, though)_____________________________________________________________________
   [40]contains some discussion of this.___________________________________________________________

I hope that cpp works much better now.
Please give an example if something do not work as it "should".
