ragge, Some, well alot, of years ago, I got a copy of a scholarly magazine on software writing that contained an article on (I think) PCC intermediate output. As I recall now, the code exhibited a very Forthy aspect to it. The subsequent use of that code was optimized and translated to host-native assembler output for further assemblage.
